The Vertical Self

Who are you...really? In an incredibly profound way, Mark Sayers takes you on a journey inside yourself and brings you to grips with who you are really meant to be. You may have chosen paths and personas that have caused your life to come to a fork in the road or a complete dead end; either way, "The Verticle Self" will help you to discover your true identity.

Sayers digs deep into society and reveals the truth about how our character is being devloped in the twenty first century. He unravels why our social currency is based on all the things that will prevent us from living a life that glorifies God. The author brings a unique style in his writing to reach those who need historical data, current statistics, and real life examples in conveying his message. His message is Holy Spirit filled...not to codemn, but to convict. The author's desire is to bring about the change that you so desperately need in life in order to receive God's very best in your life.

The book is mostly written for a "youth" audience. (I would stretch this audience from the age of 16 to the age of 35.) It is the "now" generation that the author is speaking to and I'm convinced it is a much needed message that has the power to change lives and make a positive difference for the Kingdom of God. I would HIGHLY recommend this book as a bible study for youth groups and if I were a youth leader I would keep my eye diligently on Mark Sayer for more guidance in leading our youth into the hands of God.

Cherie,

I've not heard of this book before. Thanks for the review and recommendation. So often self help books omit the most important aspect of growth - the growth that comes from God's principles. I'll be sure to pass this along to our youth leaders.

PS I found your blog through High Calling Blogs. Welcome!
