Unleashed

I REALLY liked this book. I've never heard of the author, but I'd really like to read more from him. The message in "Unleashed" is thought provoking, uplifting, invigorating, and powerful. McManus strives to get us to live our lives for Christ in what he describes as a "barbaric" way. Not out of control, but recklessly abandoned to Jesus and completely devoted to God's purposes wherever that may lead us.

I loved the author's personal illustrations throughout the book. McManus takes you into early Christianity and helps you to see what it meant to live for Christ. By looking at the lives of John the Baptist, Peter, and Paul, we gain insight into just what it means to step out in faith, boldly, and unleash the spirit that God has placed within us when we accept Christ as Lord and Savior. I believe this message gives a clear depiction of what Jesus meant when He said, "Follow Me." The author clearly outlines religion versus being a Christ follower and encourages you to take the road less traveled. It's the one that leads adventure in ways that we cannot imagine. It's the way that leads to a life worth living. "Unleashed" will get you to look into your own faith and cause you to ask some serious questions about what you really believe. It's a call to live out the faith you profess!

I have wanted to read this one for a while, and have not yet had the opportunity. Thanks for the insight on the book. I think it's time for me to add another one to my reading material stack. :) I have also read a few of the Andy Andrews books. My husband loves them and I had trouble getting into it too. Must be a guy thing. :) Blessings.
