The Blessing

I had one problem with this book: I found it almost impossible to hold back tears long enough to get through each page. I wasn't prepared for how powerful this book would be. It was one of those books that I nearly read through in one sitting. Although the message of the book talks about "The Blessing," I'm convinced that the book is "The Blessing," in and of itself. I don't care who you are . . . you need this book as much as I did.

"The Blessing" unlocks what I believe is one of the critical factors to why we are who we are. It's the the painful secret that no one wants to talk about . It's whether or not we receive "The Blessing" that usually determines our course in life. You might not realize it, but once you've read "The Blessing," the missing puzzle pieces of your life will suddenly fall into place.

Dr. John Trent and Gary Smalley write with compassion that flows passionately through each page. They know ALL about "The Blessing" and they want the world to be changed by "The Blessing." If everyone would follow through with the building blocks provided within the message of the book, the world would, in fact, be changed.

As I was nearing the end of the book, I was certain that the authors were leaving out a critical part of the message . . . what about those who will never receive "The Blessing," or who endlessly struggle to no avail to receive "The Blessing"  . . . what then? I continued to read on and found the ending to be even more powerful than the beginning. Hope was unleashed and poured out . . . what a blessing.

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK!
(P.S. I am certain that this book will be in my top 5 for 2011)

*I received this book for free in exchange for my unbiased review through the Thomas Nelson BookSneeze program.

Blessings Cherie, Do you think this is an update or a reprinting of this book from the past? I'm sure I have it at home and read it but back in the 90s! I was in much need of a 'blessing' as you wrote midway here... but I have always been blessed by the wisdom of Gary Smalley and Dr. John Trent, added more.

Yes,these building blocks are crucial for us and our children. Thank you for sharing your insights and your own wisdom. You are such a blessing to me!

Thanks for your reply to my personal email but I sent one before with more about the Scriptures...hope you can find it. DEPRESSION is where I am...

Love and peace,
Peggy

Hi ladies! Yes, you are correct! This is an updated and revised version! For whatever reason, I had not heard of it . . . I think it was incredibly wise for Thomas Nelson to rerelease this book!
Blesings to you both!

I bought this book some years back. I wanted to read it but loaned it to someone who never gave it back :-( From time to time I think of this book. Even it's title has stayed with me.
