"Smack Dab in the Middle of God's Love" is a simple story that sheds light on the truth on God's love for us. The book intends to reach a Hispanic culture using a Mexican village setting and using spanish words and cultural norms. The idea of the story is to convey to the children that out of all the questions they have about God and all of the questions God might have for them, the one that is most important is "Do we receive the fullness of God's love for us?"
I can see this book being used in a mission trip, and a Sunday School setting. It is a quick read and one that would prompt further discussion. I think more could have been done with this book. But, quite possibly, if their targeted audience was Kindergarten through 1st grade, the book may be just the right length with a properly conveyed message. I did feel that the book was primarily geared towards the hispanic culture, or quite possibly to teach others about some aspects of the Hispanic culture.
