The Shelter of God's Promises

Sheila Walsh manages to brilliantly present the power in the Promises of God in her PAGE TURNER, "The Shelter of God's Promises." The book is broken down into categories of God's Promises:

Provision- I Don't Have Enough
Peace- I'm Afraid and Feel Alone
Confidence-I Can't See God's Plan in this Pain
Love- I Don't Believe that Anyone Could Really Love Me
Grace- I Have Failed
Hope- I'm Broken
Strength- I Feel Things Are Crashing Around Me
More- I Know There's Something Better
Home- I have a Future

Each Promise of God that is covered is one you are in desperate need of. Whatever you're facing, Sheila Walsh presents God's Promises to you with power that leaves you experiencing nothing but peace. I'll admit, I have not previously found Sheila Walsh's books to be powerful or pertinent in my life . . . mainly because I felt she shared too many personal stories that did not help her connect with her readers. At times, in the past, her books that I've reviewed seemed to show that she was disconnected with what she was writing, as well as the women who are suffering deeply. (almost forced writing, if you will) But, "The Shelter of God's Promises" is different. Sheila Walsh stepped aside and allowed God to write through her. She allowed His heart to pour out onto the pages, in order to connect you with your Heavenly Father who dearly loves you. Her writing seemed effortless, although I know otherwise . . . but the words flowed so wonderfully and each teaching grabbed your heart so tightly that you'll find it difficult to put this one down. The Biblical teachings Sheila uses and each Scripture that was chosen is woven together in a tapestry that will have a profound impact on your spirit. You'll find the shelter your soul is desperate for . . . you'll find the faith that will never fail . . . and you'll find the strength to carry on through your storms of life through the promise of God's presence.

This would be a perfect Bible study book. There are questions in the back, although it would be easy to form your own discussions and questions. Also, there is a study guide available that is sold seperately.
This is a winner for Sheila Walsh! I HIGHLY recommend it!

Hello Cherie,

I like your honest review of her former books. It all makes sense, in that when a writer puts to much emphasis on their own experiences it takes the focus off the Lord. ( I hope that makes sense ?? )

I am drawn to, and learn most from the books where the author fades into the background, and Jesus is in the spotlight. I trust your reviews, and I feel confident any book you recommend is great. I will check-out her "The Shelter of God's Promises". I'm currently reading "Beginning at the End" and I'm learning and growing with each page. I'm a slow reader, but when I'm done I'll do the Amazon review.

God bless you,
Michele

Thank you Cherie for this wonderful review! I can't wait to get my copy and I'd love to do it as a study! I wish either of your books were available in Kindle! I really think "Beginning at the End" would have helped me through last year and I know that "BE STILL" WILL but I'm trusting in the One who brings me peace and calm in the storm and so far it's working! :0) (I've requested it often at Amazon to make available in Kindle)!!!

Holding on to God's Promises in the Shelter of the Almighty (Ps. 91)!
Love, peace and JOY,
Peggy
