Heaven's Lessons

First and foremost, this is not the "account" of Steve Sjogren's NDE (Near Death Experience). If you want to read that in detail you should read, "The Day I Died." This is a wonderful read regarding the life perspective Sjogren gained from the experience. It was truly easy to read, wonderfully written, and kept me turning pages. I found the book to help me to reflect upon my life and faith in various avenues that we tend not to pay much attention to on a daily basis.

Some of the typical lessons like forgiveness were not profound, but nevertheless critical. Other aspects of Heaven's Lessons include how we view success, death, healing, thankfulness, etc. These were all areas of our lives that we should examine, continually. But, my favorite part of the book was actually the Conclusion, "I Dare You To Dare Me . . .." I TRULY needed this section in my life right now and the whole book was worth this section. Although it was slightly off topic, I believe that the author gives us insight as to critical decisions in our faith that can alter the course of our lives in more ways than we can count. In the conclusion, Sjogren discusses his wife's coming to faith and her "dare." Based on Scripture, Sjogren challenges you to do a 90 day experiment. Let's just say I've taken him up on it . . . and God is faithful. Thank you Steve for reminding me that God is BIG and God loves to answer prayer!
