Spiritual Fruit is the evidence of faith

in the life of every Believer.

It is Fruit that is not rooted in ourselves

or nourished through our own efforts,

but by remaining in the Vine.

Although we are told, through Galatians 5, of the Spiritual Fruit we are to bear in our lives, we often assume that we are to grow the fruit ourselves. We have missed the point of Jesus’ words in John 15:1-5: “I am the Vine, you are the branches.” As if those words were not clear enough, Jesus decided to reveal the secret to Christian life and service: “apart from me you can do nothing.” Yet, in our efforts to live a life that is worthy, we so easily forget: It is only when we remain in Him that we will “bear much fruit.”
