Believe It

("From the Heart of God" Devotionals by Cherie Hill- to be published 2012)

I know your needs are plenty.
I watch over you with an unwavering eye.
Every detail is within My grasp.
But your faith slips, your flesh is weak,
and you question My sovereignty.

Don't just look at your life and think that is all there is to it.
Every event is a parallel to something deeper
and more important concerning your spirit.
Don't you trust My Promises to you?
Have you forgotten Truth?
Do you really believe that I will do what I say I will do?
If your mind understands it,
why isn't your heart responding to it?
Allow My Promises to grip you.
Read My Word and believe it.
I am forever faithful, My Word is true.
I'll never leave or forsake you.
Never question in the dark what I have revealed in My Light.
When in doubt . . . believe.

Jesus asked them: “Why are you talking about having no bread?
Do you still not see or understand? Are your hearts hardened?
Do you have eyes but fail to see, and ears but fail to hear?
 And don’t you remember?
Mark 8: 17-18 (NIV)

I love what you say here -- "Never question in the dark what I have revealed in my Light. When in doubt ... believe." I struggle with doubting God -- not so much His truths, but His power and grace in me -- perhaps those are the truths that I do struggle with. Great insight today. Thank you.

How reassuring to know that God knows all that's happening in our lives and that ...He cares.

A blogging friend sent me an email recommending your book "Be Still" after reading my latest blog post on Heart Choices. She told me it was one of the best books she read and is going to mail me a copy. I can't wait to read it.

Blessings,
Debbie

Hi Debbie! Thanks for stopping by my blog and WOW I am so thrilled that your friend would send you a copy of my book! I pray that it will speak volumes to you! After reading this post . . . I am certain that it will. It seems that you and I are in the same "boat" in many ways. Different situations, but same test! :) I will be praying that you will embrace every moment in your trial as an opportunity to do deeper in your faith, to trust God even more. After all, that's all He wants anyway . . . our faith in Him. I love the quote: "Faith isn't easy, but it makes all things possible!" It's NOT easy . . . but when we learn to be at rest with Jesus . . . well, He calms the storm. Not necessarily in our circumstances, but in our souls . . . and THAT is the GREATEST miracle of all. One day you will look back on all of this and fall down on your knees in awe and wonder as you realize just how close God was to you . . . how every detail was held in His hand and how He walked with you in order to strengthen you for the journey ahead.
Blessings sister,
Cherie
